Bengali (Bangla) is the seventh largest language in the World in terms of the number of people who speak Bengali . It is also one of the richest in terms literary, cultural and musical achievements. However, there is a great disconnect between the beauty and the richness of the language and mainstream thought process of the World.

We want the World to get connected with an immense cultural treasure trove – that of the two Bengals, divided unfortunately – Bangladesh (population 144,319,628) and West Bengal, India (population 80,221,171). We also want to bridge the gap between Bengali children who have grown up here and their great culture. We are holding an International Bangla Festival in four cities of USA in June, 2007 which will bring Bengali out and present the best it has to offer to the World. There will be a book fair, there will be a beauty contest, there will be talent shows, debates, cultural and business forums, stalls and booths of every kind, and thousands of people attending it. This is the International party that Bengal was waiting for, and the whole World is invited. Apart from the free flow Muktadhara Foundation of information, this is a great opportunity for the business community to reach out to the ethnic Bengali community through advertising or through booths and stalls in the convention centers. This event will be held at York College in Queens, New York.
